Grasshopper 1 was inspired by Alex Moulton's bicycles - Notice the space frame construction and 17" Moulton wheels. The picture below shows me on the racetrack at CycleFest'94 in Lancaster, England - In spite of my best efforts I did come last in this race. I am smiling since I had never intended my bikes to be fast.
