Sold by World Radio Labs of Council Bluffs, Iowa, this transmitter is rated at 65 watts input on CW and 50 watts on AM. The transmitter uses Heising plate modulation. The choke used for modulation is the same part number as the power supply choke. Covers ham bands from 6 to 80 meters. Pi network output on 10 to 80 meters and link coupling on 6. Ads for the Globe Scout 680A can be found in QST magazine starting January 1958. The 680 (non-A) was advertised in 1957. Available as a kit for $99.95 and wired for $119.95. Model 66 was advertised as identical except the bandswitching covers the 10 to 160 meter bands.
