Question of the Day:

A patient presents with “foot drop” after having been struck on the lateral side of her leg by a car bumper. Her foot hangs loosely in plantar flexion when she raises it off the ground. She can still invert but cannot evert her foot. She can flex but not extend her toes. Explain these findings and postulate the extent of the injury.
