Exam #3:

Monday, November 21, 2010: 8:00am:  Grover W 209

This exam will cover only the last portion of the course, from Exam # 2 onward.  The exam is NOT open book & NOT open notes.

The final exam will be made up of questions that address:

1. The content of each lecture class session from the previous test (Exam #2) until this test, including:

Lecture 8:  Sustainable Building Systems and Construction for Designers Chapter 7: Walls"

Lecture 11:  HVAC

Lecture 12, Solar Design

Lecture 13, Building Codes, Fireplaces

Lecture 14: Plumbing, Electricity, Stairs

Lecture 15, Escalators, Millwork, & Catalog Houses

Lecture 16, Built In Furniture & Straw Bale Construction.

2.  The content of the text, pages as noted in daily assignments.

3. The short videos that we watched in class, all of which are available via the class web page.

4.  Some basic information about the overall concept of standards in terms of dimensions, weights, and materials as a basic and overarching idea that influences nearly all aspects of materials and construction of spaces as we have explored them in this class.

Any information I presented in class: anything I talked about that may have been outside of the content of either the book, or the power point slide contents.  (This is, of course, the reason you come to class).

The exam will be multiple choice and short written answer questions.  The exam will contain approximately fifty (50) questions with approximately  sixty total answers.  There will be several 'Extra Credit' questions at the end of the exam.

To study for this exam you MUST go through each of the power point format lectures and commit a good amount of the information to memory, watch the short videos, and be able to think clearly at the time of the test.

Please Note:
"Sustainable Building Systems and Construction For Designers" by Lisa M. Tucker, will be the required textbook for HCIA 351, Materials and Construction II, next spring quarter.
