Principal Investigator
Dr. Hua studies protein ubiquitylation, proteostasis, chloroplast signaling, and plant development. He enjoys asking difficult biological questions, developing practical solutions, and working with motivated students who are eager to grow as independent scientists. He also enjoys building tools, analyzing data, and fixing problems—from experiments to computer code.
Ph.D. Student, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Fall 2024–
Emmanuel's doctoral research focuses on plant protein ubiquitylation and F-box gene function. Through his Ph.D. training, he aims to develop as an independent scientist and contribute to discoveries that improve our understanding of plant biology.
